My baby is a preschooler!

Hannah started preschool this week and I can hardly believe she is old enough.  It seems like yesterday she was my little baby.  I am afraid if I blink for too long she will be graduating high school.   Despite all my fears, the building did not catch on fire, they did not lose her, she did not run away, and they gave her back to me at the end of the day.  She was more than ready and loved every minute of it.  We love her teacher and know that Hannah is in the right place.  It is bittersweet because I know that this year has so many changes ahead for her.  She will turn 3 and that seems huge to me.  I am excited for all that she is going to learn and all the fun ahead.  She has the best personality.  She wakes up every morning with a huge "Good morning Mama" as she leaps out of bed...literally leaps!  Her prayers are comical and heart melting at the same time.  They usually include gratitude for grilled cheese and gold fish these days.  She loves Bailey and is going to be the best big sister.  Her best friends are her baby and a smaller baby she calls "two baby". Her blanky goes everywhere she goes.  She loves getting the smallest amount of attention and is thrilled if you just sit and read to her every book she owns over and over.  She is amazing to me.  

She loved the pool this year and has started floating and kicking her legs.  We will have to start swim lessons before next summer. 

9 Weeks

This week Bailey had her 2 month old check up.  She weighed 7 lbs and is 20 1/4 inches long.  She didn't like getting her shots and screamed louder than I knew she could.  It was so sad and pitiful to watch.  She is still on a 3 hour schedule during the day.  At night her last feeding is at 11p.m. and we let her wake us for the next feeding, which is usually around 4:30.  She is so sweet and we adore her cuddles.

Sweet nap time.  I let her sleep on her tummy if I am going to be really close and can check on her. She has pretty good head control and can turn her head from side to side, but I still like to be able to keep a close eye on her.  

We took the girls to their first sounds game.  Hannah loved every minute of being outside and all the excitement around her. 

Bailey did great in the carrier for the first time. She slept the entire time.   I brought along a small handheld fan because it was a hot day and she stayed nice and cool. 

Brian and the girls in his hammock.  After living here for almost 6 years he decided to see if it would stretch out to our two trees.  It did and it has became his "man cave" from a house full of girls. 

My birthday celebration.  We had a low key day.  Brian made me breakfast and a cake.  We took Hannah to the splash pad and then played for a little bit in the river.

Brian and I got to have a date night. It was the night we celebrated his birthday.   It was the first time I really left Bailey with anyone.  Although I knew she was in good hands with her Nonna and Papa,  I constantly checked my phone and texted to check in.  Both girls did great.
 We had the best time.  We had dinner downtown and went to a concert outside.  It was the perfect weather for it and a great memory for us. 

Bailey finally has eye lashes!  For a long time they were very light and barely there.  They are now getting long, thick and dark.  Her eyes seem to be staying blue too.  I am in love with her big bright eyes.

Life with two is fun… Hannah loves Bailey.  After we emerged from the fog of the first few weeks home I think we found our new normal and just started going with the flow.  It hasn't been a hard adjustment and we love having two girls.  Our house has exploded even more with pink and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Happy 4th of July.  We had a quiet time at home just enjoying the girls.  Hannah had her first sparkler and was very curious about it.
