Halloween and other October fun

October is one of our favorite months and seems to have become one of our busiest. We celebrated our 5th anniversary, Hannah turned one and Halloween are some of the best reasons we love this month. We tried to spend as much time as possible outside and soaking up the last days before being forced into the hibernation of winter. This year Halloween was extra sweet since we are able to dress Hannah up in fun costumes. We made up for not being able to dress her up last year.

We went to the zoo this month with Hannah's cousins. She loves them and they adore her. Its so sweet to watch them interact and play.

She has started crawling like this at times. Its very funny to watch.

Such a good little eater. She will eat just about anything we put in front of her.

ROLL TIDE ROLL! We dressed Hannah up for the big Alabama vs Tennessee game.

Here's one of my favorite Halloween's. Halloween last year in the NICU with the cutest little pumpkin ever :). We spent Halloween night at the hospital learning how to care for a preemie and preparing to bring her home the next day. I will never forget not caring one bit that we were missing one our favorite holidays just to watch her yawn and thinking how adorable every move she made was... Almost a year later and we still think the same way.

A few highlights from Trunk or Treating. We went to our church and then Brian's parents. Our cute little bumblebee got us lots of candy. She liked being dressed up.

Trying chocolate for the first time. We gave her a kitkat and she sucked the chocolate off of it. She didn't get hyper right away, but "sang" the whole way home.

Nonna came to see Hannah and the boys. I didn't get a clear picture of the boys but they were dressed up so cute.

Brian and I went to a Pearl Jam concert. It was a lot of fun and Brian was in heaven

On the way home we drove through the Roaring Fork motor trail and saw the beautiful fall colors.

We have taken a picture from this site every fall since moving to Tennessee. Its kind of becoming a tradition. Next year I hope we can take Hannah and get her in there too. Last year she was still in my stomach.

We were greeted by the cutest pumpkin when we got home from our trip. We were only gone overnight, but we missed her so much!

Trick or Treating with Nonna and Papa. We could get everyone to look at the camera at the same time and the was the best shot. They boys are at a such a fun and silly age. It was so fun watching them get candy.

Hannah rode in the wagon on the first street we went down. It got a little colder than we realized so we took turns carrying her the rest of the way. She seems to like the wagon and was content to be pulled around.

Trip to Alabama to visit Mamaw and Papaw

We were able to make it to Alabama for a visit with Mamaw and Papaw in October. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked to, but enjoyed catching up and having lunch together. Brian set up the tripod for a picture of the 5 of us and the only way to keep Hannah still was to give her my phone. At least she is looking in the right direction.

Hannah had a fun time. Mamaw read to her and she actually sit still for most of the book.

I think Papaw was smitten with Hannah. He gave lots of kisses, sang funny songs and made faces to get her to smile. She would laugh at him and shake her head to get him to laugh back.

Brian has been researching his genealogy and had read about one of his ancestors being buried in this grave yard near our route home so we decided to stop and check it out. It was in a beautiful area and worth the 10 minute detour just to enjoy the scenery. This is the field next to the cemetery.

We have a one year old!

We still cannot believe that we have a one year old! At her one year old checkup she weighed 17 1/2 pounds and is 18.5 inches long. ( 3% for weight 15% height) She can say Mama, Dada, Papa, and baba for bottle. The week she turned one, we switched to only sippy cups and solid foods. She has done great. Her favorite foods are pancakes, strawberries, bananas, chicken, fish, carrots and bread. She loves puffs and melts also, but we try and limit those. She pulls up on everything, is starting to cruise up and down the couch, crawls on all fours, but she prefers army crawling mostly. She will shake her head no sometimes to say no, but mostly to be playful and get a laugh out of you. She is ticklish and has the best belly laugh I have ever heard. She curiously studies everything that goes into her mouth and investigates every detail of her toys. She loves to pull all the books off the shelf and look at the pages. She points and feels all the pages with the tip of her finger. Her favorite thing to look at is anything with faces, books with people or her reflection in the mirror. She is super silly and we can already see a mischievous side in her. We love seeing who she is becoming and have so much joy from watching her grow and learn.

Happy Birthday sweet girl! She wakes up happy like this every morning, but was especially happy to wake up to the happy birthday song.

Birthday party at her Papa and Nonna's house with just the family. We had pizza and cupcakes. Hannah had her very own cake and loved the icing. She scooped handfuls into her mouth. She was in a great mood the whole time and loved looking at her new toys. Her favorite was a dollhouse and her little people campsite.
