Christmas 2012

Christmas this year was so special with Hannah. We went to Alabama to celebrate with Brian's grandparents.

Christmas celebration at Brian's parents was especially fun this year with our two nephews, Austin and Micah. They were so excited to open presents. Watching them open their gifts was almost as fun as opening our own

Week by Week

I am going to be posting a weekly picture of Hannah with details about how her week went and her growth...this will be a kind of baby book for her one day :) Im posting the weeks that have already passed below. It is so fun taking these pictures. Every Sunday we set up the little bear and pose Hannah next to it. I cannot wait until Hannah can name little bear, but until then we call him Mr Bear.

Hannah came home a few days before her 3 weeks picture, so this is where we start. 4 lbs 13 oz

Still wearing preemie clothes. She had a doctor appt this week and weighed 5 lbs 10 oz.  

Looking like a little doll baby. She is the sweetest baby. She hardly ever cries and when she does its more of a soft whimper than anything. 

We moved Hannah to her room this week. She did great and mommy and daddy only checked on her every 5 minutes the first night, but she slept great. I think she loves her room!

We are getting excited for Christmas! We started our bedtime routine this week. Hannah gets a bath (every couple days) then daddy feeds her and reads a book. We both tuck her in and she is ready for sweet dreams. I go back in around 11 and do a "dream feed". Quick diaper change, no talking, low lights and she drinks her bottle half asleep and drifts back off to sleep. She wakes up again sometime between 4:30-6 to eat and then we are up for the day at 8:00. I love waking her up in the morning. She is so happy and her little stretches are adorable.

Hannah had her 2 month check up this week. She weighs 7 lbs 8 oz and is 20 inches long. She is 75% for weight and 50% for height based on premie charts. The Dr said she looked great and everything was right on track. She also had her first round of shots this visit :( She did so great, cried just for a minute and then fell asleep. She slept most of the rest of that day and never had a fever. 

Merry Christmas! We are getting ready for Hannah's first Christmas.  She is sleeping 6-7 hours at night and sometimes even 8. She eats 2-3 oz every 3 hours during the day and is napping on average 1 hr 45 mins every 3 hours.

We were so blessed to have our friends, the Jerkins, from church take some family pictures of us. We love every image and will treasure them forever. Here are a few of them :)

The first day I found out I was pregnant I told Brian that I really wanted to get newborn photos taken of our baby. We saved for 6 months and it was well worth it. We fell in love with the style and the use of color and texture of this photographer. She did an amazing job and we are so happy with the results. I kept Hannah awake most of the morning so that once we got to the studio she would be so exhausted and just crash for pics. They wanted her to be in the deepest sleep possible. She did great. She hardly made a peep during the session. The studio was also 88 degrees and had a sound machine playing loudly...it was hard for us to stay awake.

This post is dedicated to the many "firsts" Hannah has experienced this far

First trip to the pediatrician was 2 days after leaving the hospital.  Weighing in at 4 lbs 13 oz. Everything looked great and the Dr was pleased with her growth.

First Bath! She loved it. She cried at first but then quickly relaxed and just chilled for awhile.
